The Black Ops Cold War Zombies mode teaser is broken up into three sections. The first section shows a staircase covered in graffiti, which some fans have theorized may be a staircase from a previous Zombies map. The second section shows a mechanical room of some kind, and at the bottom of the screen, shrouded in darkness, is what appears to be a Monkey Bomb. For those who may not be familiar with Zombies, Monkey Bombs are a grenade-like weapon that sees a toy monkey bang cymbals together to attract zombies. Zombies then crowd around the device, only for it to explode and take out a significant number of the undead in the process.

This seems to be a confirmation that the Monkey Bomb will be returning in Black Ops Cold War’s take on Zombies mode. However, specific details on what Zombies will entail have yet to be revealed by Activision.

At this point, it’s unclear when Activision will reveal more about the Black Ops Cold War Zombies mode. Its focus right now is on showcasing the Black Ops Cold War multiplayer, with the multiplayer beta set to kick off on October 8. It’s possible fans will have to wait at some point after the Black Ops Cold War multiplayer beta to learn more about Zombies, but a reveal taking place closer to Halloween would be fitting, anyway. The reveal will likely give fans a look at the different Zombies maps that will be available to them, along with ways that Treyarch may be shaking up the formula in the new game.

The Black Ops Cold War release date is November 13, so it’s a safe bet that more info will come before then. Fans can also expect more information on the campaign, multiplayer, and the different ways Black Ops Cold War will connect to the Warzone battle royale between now and its release date.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launches November 13 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
