Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to follow the first Black Panther film and pick up after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Both Infinity War and Endgame did an amazing job at making Thanos an imposing threat. The Avengers film was pivotal for the overarching plot of Marvel Studios’ first three phases, and it also ended a lot of plot lines for the MCU as a whole. It closed many chapters and character arcs while setting up a future for the upcoming heroes.

Due to information from costume designer Stacy Caballero, it was revealed that she will be working on costumes for Angela Bassett, Lupita Nyong’o and Kaluuya. This isn’t official confirmation from Disney or Marvel Studios, but it serves as something unofficial for the time being as fans await for the movie’s anticipated release. Kaluuya played W’Kabi, who was a close friend of T’Challa before they had a falling out due to the intervention of Killmonger. W’Kabi is a warrior from Wakanda’s Border Tribe, who protect the fictional land of Wakanda from invaders and outsiders. A fierce warrior and combatant, W’Kabi had more scenes in the first movie that unfortunately had to be removed for time constraints. It was unclear at one point whether W’Kabi or Michael B. Jordan’s Killmonger would return, but now this information serves as the closest thing to a confirmation for one of them.
Now that fans have an idea of who is going to be featured Black Panther 2, many can expect there to be more surprises once the film releases. Plot details are still scarce, and many don’t have an idea as to what will happen when this movie releases as far as how it will handle the mantle of Black Panther. Rumors have been swirling around claiming Black Panther 2 will feature Namor, Atlantis, X-Men and even a battle for the throne. None of it is officially concrete, but speculations have been occurring. Marvel Studios is very good at guarding secrets, and it remains true here.
Regardless of what Black Panther 2 does or how it moves the MCU forward, many should trust that it will deliver. With Ryan Coogler leading the project, fans should know that the movie is in good hands. This movie will also set up Riri Williams before her return in the anticipated Ironheart project.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is slated for a November 11, 2022, release.
