In our initial playthrough of Blair Witch, we were able to complete the game in just over four hours. This included a couple of stretches where we were lost and couldn’t figure out what to do next. If we had never gotten stuck, we imagine that it would have taken about three and a half hours to beat the game.

Previously, it was claimed by the developers that it would take an average of six hours to beat Blair Witch, but that seems unlikely for most players. However, that doesn’t mean there isn’t extra content in the game that could give players more than four hours of playtime.

In fact, Blair Witch actually has a fair amount of replayability. There are collectibles for players to find, not to mention some optional puzzles to solve that they may not be able to figure out their first time through. Player choice also impacts the different endings players may see in Blair Witch, and so as long as players don’t mind starting over from the beginning, they could be compelled to play through the entire game to see all of the possible story outcomes.

Overall, Blair Witch is about as long as Bloober Team’s Layers of Fear games, so fans of the studio likely won’t be bothered by the game’s relatively short length. But now that players know about how long it will take for them to beat Blair Witch, they can make an informed decision about whether or not they want to take the plunge and venture into the Black Hills forest with Ellis and his dog Bullet.

Blair Witch is out now on PC and Xbox One.
