This Diablo Immortal-focused event will officially begin at 7:30 AM ET on April 25, which is a bit odd considering how early it will be for west coast viewers. Otherwise, Blizzard hasn’t shared any further information about the event. All the YouTube stream’s page for tomorrow’s broadcast says is that “Diablo Immortal news is coming soon.” Additionally, it asks Diablo fans to pre-register for Diablo Immortal’s eventual release - whenever that may be.

Over the past several months, Blizzard has revealed a significant amount of information regarding Diablo Immortal. In March, it shared details about Diablo Immortal’s cosmetics, Legendary Gems and Resonance levels, and players’ ability to change classes. In February, Diablo Immortal’s game director thanked closed beta participants and the Diablo community, encouraging them to look forward to news in the coming months. In December, a series of brief animated lore videos were shared on Twitter. Some would say Blizzard has been building up to something.

The Diablo Immortal community is somewhat split regarding what Monday’s announcement could be. Some believe that Blizzard could be postponing Diablo Immortal’s release, either to late 2022 or even 2023. Others think this could be an official release date announcement, if not the full launch of Diablo Immortal. They argue that if Diablo Immortal was being delayed, Blizzard wouldn’t make an event out of it.

Diablo Immortal was first announced in 2018, so Diablo fans have been waiting a long time for the mobile game launch. It was tentatively planned for release in 2021, only for Blizzard to delay the game into the first half of 2022 this past August. The status of the game likely heavily depends on closed beta feedback for Diablo Immortal. If players believe it needs more time in development, Blizzard is likely to take it.

All Diablo fans can do is tune into Blizzard’s event tomorrow and hope for the best. Again, the Diablo Immortal event will air at 4:30 AM PT/7:30 AM ET. The reason for the early event isn’t clear, but if it was bad news, Blizzard probably wouldn’t be holding an event at all. A release date could be confirmed soon.

Diablo Immortal is scheduled to release in the first half of 2022 on iOS and Android devices.
