Using the Very Large Telescope (VLT) located in the Atacama Desert of northern Chile, a team of researchers spotted a star in the NGC 1850 star-cluster whose shape is being warped by the intense gravitational influence of a black hole that has about 11 times the mass of our sun. The method used to find this black hole in a cluster 160,000 light-years away could help astronomers hunt for hidden black holes much closer to home, hidden within our own galaxy....

Dmitri was originally from Greece, but developed a severe eye infection when he was a kitten living on the streets. Sadly both his eyes were amputated, leaving the cat completely blind. But he hasn’t let it hold him back, with his owner, Emma Pelkiewicz, saying he’s as happy as can be. When talk of a BioShock film first surfaced, the initial plan was for it to release in 2010. This didn’t happen for a variety of reasons, not the least of which was budgetary concerns for the large-scale project which would also be running the risk of being a video game movie, a genre that comes attached with negative connotation. We already know that currently untitled Mass Effect 4 will not feature Commander Shepard, but after so many enjoyable adventures, it’s no surprise that gamers are eager for word on the next-generation follow-up. Currently, no official date for the game has been set, with BioWare hoping to share details this year (likely at E3 2014), but the recent listing of possible PS4 and Xbox One versions of the Mass Effect Trilogy bundle caused fans to speculate that the game might be coming earlier (or even later) than originally expected....

As it turns out, BioWare was impressed enough with the designs to give her a call yesterday and start organizing the hoodie production on an official level. Of course, the designs from Schott are going to be used as a very early concept, and the final products may not end up looking anything like them. White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows told reporters on Wednesday that it was “very thoughtful” and “very meaningful” to see Republicans and Democrats coming together to put forth a stimulus package. Unveiled on Tuesday, the package provides funding for a number of measures included in the bipartisan CARES Act, such as unemployment and another round of stimulus checks.
